100 Mile Race

I have been part of the Caledonia Classic since its inaugural run. I am very proud how the race has evolved over the years, not only to meet the ever changing musher demands, but into a staple of the Fort St. James community calendar.
I deeply enjoy seeing teams race and enjoy running on our local trails. Good luck to all the mushers!

This year Edie and I will again challenge ourselves to running the Canadian triple crown. Caledonia Classic, Underdog 100 and the HBQ. These tree races are the foundation and future for the sport to continue and to thrive. All of these races are designed to be a competitive and challenging experience for small kennel owners. The toughest one of these races is the Caledonia Classic with the mountain range and format it gives every musher that crosses the finish line a sense of accomplishment. Being a resident of Fort Saint James, I take great pride in being a 4 time champion and I’m looking at defending my title once again and keeping the championship here in Fort Saint James .

Grew up in Yellowknife and moved to Whitehorse with a dream of running the Yukon Quest. I was lucky enough to achieve this goal two times, in 2018 and 2019. Since then I have been focusing on shorter distances which offer a better work life balance and ensures that the experience is fun for the team and me.
I am looking forward to competing in the Caledonia this year!

I am excited to run this speed race. I enjoy the intense competition of this distance where the race can be won or lost by making one simple error on the trail or a smart decision!

I am a recreational musher that enters the odd race. Love the solitude of just me and my dogs running trails. Will continue to run dogs as long as possible in memory of Kim who started me on this whole crazy lifestyle.

I got into mushing by rescuing Siberian Huskies and attending Mushing Bootcamp. Then I moved to Oregon and have since run several 100 mile races with dogs from Manitou Crossing Kennel in Minnesota when my dogs were younger. I’m a Professional Dog trainer who enjoys dog powered sports, agility, mountain biking, hiking, x country skiing and music. I love the mail run in Quesnel BC and the history of the dogs!

Started canicrossing with 2 house dogs 6 years ago not knowing a thing about dog sledding. 5 yrs ago my wife Sarah had me try a kicksled and since then we have pieced together a team of rehomes and rescues.

We got our first 2 sibes twenty some yrs ago. Started skijoring, acquired more dogs then discovered that sleds had brakes! Novel idea! The Okanagan was too warm, so moved to Prince George.  Of course more huskies found us, so we ran tours for 10 yrs. Now the teams just run the trails recreationally, and I am excited for my first 50 miler!

My family moved to the Yukon to be able to race and run dogs freely. I have been mushing since the age of 4 and have been racing mid to long distance with the goal of having the time of me life out there with my dogs and experience new trails.
